Beginning in the 2025 school year, Caldwell ISD will enforce a new cell phone policy aligned with Texas House Bill 1481, which requires public school districts to restrict student use of personal communication devices during the school day.
Under the new policy, students must keep all personal communication devices off and out of sight throughout the school day, secured in a backpack, purse, locker, or vehicle. The goal is to reduce distractions and encourage a more focused and engaging learning environment.
โThe goal of this policy is to support student success by minimizing disruptions and maximizing instructional time,โ the district said. โWe want students to be fully present and engaged with their learning and peers.โ
Students who do not comply with the policy will face the following disciplinary action:
